Initial investigations point to murder, and a forensic team has collected fingerprints and other clues from the spot. Police are launching a search for the deceased couple’s 38-year-old son, Abhishek, who has been missing for several days.
The bodies were discovered in a three-storey building at the Hewatt Road crossing in South Malaka, which houses shops on the ground floor and residential quarters upstairs.
According to neighbours, no one had been seen leaving the house for several days before the foul smell alerted the locality on Tuesday.
Police took possession of the three bodies and sent them for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Investigators are currently probing a potential family property dispute as a motive. According to police sources, an investigation is underway, and the triple murder will be solved soon.
